Tuesday, November 4, 2014

Earlier this week, Food Banks Canada released HungerCount 2014: A comprehensive report on hunger and food bank use in Canada, and recommendations for change.

The HungerCount report is the only comprehensive study of food bank use in Canada.

HungerCount calls for five areas of government action, one of which is to "address the extremely high levels of food insecurity in Canada's north."

The report shows that there has been a 247% increase in Northern food bank usage since 2008.
